Over a 10 month period, the owner of this 5-star rated energy-efficient CVB home received electric bills averaging an amazing $5.06.
Casa Verde Builders is recognized as a national leader in Affordable Green Building, but these achievements have now reached new heights. The Home Energy Rating System (HERS) Index, developed by the EPA to set uniform guidelines for home energy efficiency for their Energy Star program, utilizes a rating system in which the lower a score is, the better. To earn a 5-star rating, one needs a score of 70 or less. The CVB home pictured on the right received a score of 29, the lowest score the testing contractor said they had ever encountered!
We believe this is a testament to the vision and quality of the Casa Verde Builders program and power of what young people can accomplish if given the opportunity, guidance, and support they need.
