American YouthWorks, an educational empowerment organization for at-risk youth, seeks:- 

Child Development Center Director - Qualifications are a Bachelor's Degree in Child Development or a related field; experience establishing a licensed childcare center and working with an economically disadvantaged population; Bilingual speaker preferred.

Teacher - candidates to work full-time or part-time.  These positions will provide at-promise students, ages 16-21, with appropriate direct or computer-based instruction to meet student needs for developing competencies and skills in . . .

• Dance: Qualifications are a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Dance.
• Homebound Instructor (contract): Qualifications are a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree and a valid Texas Teacher's Certificate.
• Assessment Specialist: to track and report student data, monitor student progress, and coordinate tutorials. Must have a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree and teaching experience; Master's Degree preferred.
• (PT) Music Teacher: Must have a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree.
• Tutors (especially for Math and Science)
• Substitute Teachers

Substitute Teachers

American YouthWorks Charter High School is looking for individuals who can substitute teacher for our promising at-risk youth. Substitute Teacher candidates must be available to work M-F between 7:45 a.m. to 2:47 p.m.

Ideal applicants must be willing to assist student with assignments given by the regular classroom instructor. He/she must be flexible, patient, and uphold school rules and guidelines. Applicants must also be willing to receive phone calls early in the morning and be ready to fill-in on short notice.

Compensation is $13/hour to be paid twice monthly.

Applicants must have a high school diploma/GED. Some college or Bachelor's Degree preferred. Teaching certificate preferred, but not necessary.
