Computer Corps
Computer Corps (C-Corps) is an AmeriCorps program in which our young people complete technology-based service projects in Austin neighborhoods with limited resources to help bridge the “Digital Divide” for both children and adults.

C-Corps members begin their service by refurbishing donated computers donating the upgraded and repaired computers to families or community centers. Next,
Youth at the Heart House After-School
Program who received refurbished computers

American YouthWorks trains our C-Corps members in using computer software and then in turn, members travel across the city (in partnership with the Austin Housing Authority and Austin Independent School District) to teach citizens.

Technology education programs currently include:

• Section 8 housing recipients
• resume assistance for 25-40 year olds

Services provided at after school programs for low-income children include:
• mentoring in two AISD elementary schools
• research using the internet
• skills to succeed in school
• homework assistance
• 15 refurbished computers were donated
