Chief Operating Officer

American YouthWorks’ Chief Operating officer, Chester Steinhauser has spent 22 years in AYW classrooms and programs serving as a classroom teacher and then as Program Director for Casa Verde Builders (CVB), Environmental Corps, and Computer Corps. A former Peace Corps volunteer, certified teacher, and builder, he was a founding board member for the Austin affiliate of Habitat for Humanity.  He is the Author of Green Equity; the base of AYW/CVB’s Mastery Certificate for sustainable construction training that has been purchased by affiliate YouthBuild Programs and is currently responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of American YouthWorks.
