AUSTIN, TX – November 4, 2009 – Grammy-nominated Latin rockers Grupo Fantasma will highlight this year’s “Help Clifford Help Kids” gala on Thursday, November 12th at the Austin Music Hall. The show benefits American YouthWorks, a nonprofit organization working to empower at-risk youth through education, jobs training, and service to the community.

The event was founded by, and is held in honor of, the late Clifford Antone. Blues legend and founder of the world-famous Antone’s nightclub in Austin, TX, Clifford combined his love for music with a passion for enriching the lives of at-risk youth and devoted the last years of his life to benefiting American YouthWorks. To that end, “Help Clifford Help Kids” has, over the course of its eight year history, raised over $1,000,000 for the organization.

On November 12th, this unique event will be emceed by Jody Denberg and Andy Langer of 107.1 KGSR along with Dave Adelson of E! News. Once again, an exciting live auction will provide fabulous opportunities for the night’s guests, including getaway packages to Paris and the Napa Valley wine country and exciting Austin music and live entertainment packages.

The evening’s musical headliner is Grammy nominated Grupo Fantasma, an 11 piece Latin funk orchestra from Austin, Texas. Formed in 2000 from the merger of two Austin acts, The Blue Noise Band and The Blimp, the band emerged with a sold out show at the former Empanada Parlour in Austin. The band is best known for their exuberant live shows and their recent association with Prince and his 3121 Club in Las Vegas. The ensemble has sold more than 20,000 albums independently.

Doors open at 8:30pm for the 9:00pm show by Grupo Fantasma, for which $15 tickets can be purchased in advance at www.gettix.net.

To attend the earlier evening program which begins at 6:00pm and includes dinner and the live auction, $250 seat tickets and table sponsorships starting at $2,500 can be purchased by contacting Jenny Burch at 705-7240 or at jburch@americanyouthworks.org.
